about

Miman takes its name from the omniscient computer aboard the spaceship Aniara in Harry Martinson’s 1956 poem epic of the same name. Miman knows the answer to all the questions of the universe but can only communicate through riddles and cryptic fragments and is therefore a machine worshiped by many as a God.

The musicians in Miman feel equally at home in free jazz, folk- and contemporary music. The tonal, textural and rhythmic merge in an electroacoustic soundscape where styles and ages dissolve.

After three records and over 100 concerts with guests such as Tristan Honsinger, Ernst Reijsiger, William Parker, Axel Dörner, Michael Griener, Alasdair Roberts and Marthe Lea, the trio bears testimony to the potential of collectively created music.
